MY 00 removing body trim
#1
I need to remove the small 'L' shaped piece of plastic trim that sits at the bottom front edge of the rear wheel arch just above the sill, hope you know where I mean. Am I right in thinking that it is a 'snap fit'. The paint is peeling and I want to have a proper look at it. Looks like it has had moisture under it for some time and is peeling badly!!
thanks

Do you mean the rear side skirts?
If so they are a sod to get off and even worse to put back on, I'd recommend leaving it to your local dealer / getting them resprayed while still on the car.
Once you undo the screws they have to be rotated through 90 degrees and slid off, took me hours to get mine off

Chris,
The 'L' piece has 2 plain spigots on the back face, which you screw a self locking clip into the end of when fitting.
Once the assembly is pushed into the holes in the wheelarch I do not think you will be able to remove them without breaking them!!
I had to change one on my MY98. The 'snap' type clip is fastened with a self tapper onto the spigots I describe, and you cannot access the screw head once fitted.
It seems to me like very bad design, or good design maybe, if you are selling Subaru spares.
Cheers MTR
