Question Cambelt

Just wondering if anyone has had a Cambelt snap on a Subaru?

I doubt it is a great issue as these pages don't have much reference to cambelts snapping.

Maybe they are all looked after and replaced at the stated intervals? Or maybe they go on for longer than some other cars?

My belt was 4 years old last May, but the mileage isn't up - so I have left it for a while ..... but cannot help wondering .......

You should keep to the scheduled maintenance to avoid potentially costly problems. Mileage or age, whatever comes sooner.

yeah not heard of snapping but heard of the pulleys breaking (bakerlite ones) and also jumping teeth, but that is probably down to incorrect tensions or some other failure other than the belt
