Default Wireless Home Cinema system

Anyone got one?

Which make/model?

Are they any good? (I mean as good as the wired ones)?

Any help would be great.

go on to AVForums.co.uk Wired is normally the best (for sound and picture quality). If it's for asthetics then thats a different matter.

No substitute for wired (at the moment anyway)

If you want HiFi quality, get some mid range speaker cables run (a minimum of 10% of your stereo setup should be spent on your cables) under the carpet or lift the laminate floor and run underneath.. it's well worth the time.

There's also the likes of the Yamaha YSP and HTY sound boxes if you don't want wires.
They are a compromise of sound quality over practicality, but they meet my demands.
I don't get wireless speakers - they still need to be individually powered with leads anyway

Had wireless, which was ok, but you will always find the picture jumping when something interferes with signal,

got wired now, so much better, full cctv kit from ebay will cost: (give or take)

pci dvr card supports 4 bnc cameras £10 max inc delivery
P113 54led night time cam, (works really well) £34 inc del
bnc cable (with the power running through it (saves trying to find a socket where the cam is going) 10m £8 inc del or 20m £11.50 inc del,

So easy to set up, done that many now for mates etc, just make sure you have room on your hard drive, all i do is check if nothing has happend during the night then delete the file and start again, but for 1day recording with the setting i have choosen is roughly 12gb

Assuming you mean home cinema rather than CCTV, I have had all sorts of different systems and still reckon, unless you have an enormous room and a lot of money, surround sound is over rated. Spending the same money on better full range front stereo speakers will give you a much better all round sound for watching films than a cheap surround sound kit.

I'd recommend the Yamaha YSP-1000,i got it a few years back to go with the Yamaha plasma. Its pretty good for surround sound when properly set up,although its hard to beat a full system.I also got a YST-SW225 which is a powered bass unit(you need the bass!)The new unit is the Ysp-4000 it gives 1080p compatible HDMI.But these arent wireless but they use your walls to bounce the sound arround the room.I would go into more detail as i'm an AV installer but i really hate typing

Thanks everyone for the advice.

Not sure what to do, but its looking like I'll keep my wired system.

Cheers once again.

KEF wireless rear set-up is likely to be as near as damn it perfect !

It should be at that price !
