looking into getting a scooby
just need to know what to look for and what mpg i should realisticaly expect??
i recently got rid of my stage 2 290bhp astra vxr that was fairly rapid and was returning 25mpg steady driving with sub 10mpg driving hard so anything around those figure should be fine
im looking at the gb270 model , is this a good model to have or should i look at others ??

Take it average as 20 ish mpg....though sometimes remapping seem to increase this. The advantage to the GB270 is you're getting a 2.5 which means torque gallor but heavier cars than the classics. It's what you really want at the end of the day i.e. racing or family driving etc

It all depends where and how you are driving. I can get 'up to' c330 - 340 miles from a full tank and I have 375bhp currently.
If you get it mapped properly it will also increase your fuel economy. I can get c30mpg for A roads and motorway driving. If just round town then c200 - 220.....
My car was mapped at Zen Performance (AVCR allows for low boost cruising). I also have an MG ZR 115 turbo diesel and can get 60 - 70mpg!!! and it's fairly nippy, gonna get it mapped to 140bhp and 220 torque soon for an 8s 0-60 car....

Bad on fuel? Ive had in this order, two XR3i's, one xr2i's, vauxhall vectra 2.5v6 GSi, Golf mk2 gti 2.0 16v, my classix wrx and now (FOR THE TIME BEING BEFORE YOU RIP ME!!>) a clio 172...all you'd expect to drink petrol, but of all, the wrx was by far the cheapest to run petrol wise

Had a GB 270 since April this year and coverd 6k+ and very happy with it. It gives around 250-270 miles a tank and this includes heavy traffic and giving it some 'welly' now and again.

I raised this question a few weeks ago when I got to the petrol warning light at c300 miles. I have since added a top rear wing which has reduce the fuel a bit more but still I can get c300 miles. If I use it to go to work the odd day at least 90+% of journey is motorway and relatively fast a roads I can use toll so can cruise at pretty much any speed I like. If you get it mapped right so it runs more lean than rich (but still in safe boundary) it will be better on fuel also being able to switch to low boost also helps. Of course if I put my foot down then thats a different matter........
