On going problem..........

Hi I have had an on going fault on my UK Turbo MY 1995.........Occasionally it is difficult to start but most of the time it will start up on the first turn of the key. I have replaced the following items..........
I Battery
2 Engine Coolant Sensor
3 Ignition Amplifier/igniter
4 Crank sensor
Once started the car runs fine...........hot or cold.
Ant ideas or advice please as to the cause of this problem?
Thought I have fixed it when I renewed the Temp sensor but it has reoccurred again this Week.
Is it worth having a go at cleaning the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) as recommended on

When it happened the car cranks over fine and then fires occasionally eventually catching and then settles down fine good tick over and pulls well............. Cheers

Already changed the coolant sensor, see list above. Took the car into local repaired/service shop and no faults in ECU..............what ever it is only affects the car when starting. Dose the impreza have a Ballast resistor to boost sparks on start up, many years ago my old Escort had a similar fault and there was a resistor in the circuit that boosted the spark when the car was cranked over to aid starting..........?

And the one youve not changed....
the cam sensor.
I had a similar problem, changed the cam sensor and the problem initially went away but came back within a week or so.
so i changed the crank one and cured it. if youve changed the crank and its not cured, then its likley to be the cam sensor

one quick way to find out,
When it wont start,stop cranking, unplug then reconnect the cam sensor,

Thanks for the advice, i will give it a go. If anyone else has a tip please feel free to post a reply, as I have to log off now and get ready for the night shift. Will take a look here tomorrow morning. Darn it, will have to take the Wifes Lupo to work again!
