Exclamation VENOM INJECTORS - GOOD OR BAD?

Hi there. I have just bought a brand new set of venom 550cc injectors for my build on the classic sti. But after buying them i have heard some bad reports about them, one of them being that the actual flow rate is different to what there supposed to flow. Can anybody thats got an experience with these, good or bad give me there feedback. Also where and how much to get them flow tested??

Cheers Leon

seen very differring flow rates within a set and horrible spray patterns observed on a flow bench, causing lumpy idle and in one case seriously different fuelling between cylinders that it was unmappable and pulling sparkplugs they were all different colours.. not good

mapped some upto high bhp with just a lumpy idle as a problem.

you get what you pay for, they are cheap for a reason.

Loads of lads bought these in the skyline community and there was a big thread on the GTR forum about these.

I think it was obvious after the 2nd post on that thread that these should be avoided at all costs. Utter rubbish.

Sell them.. cant you return them to the place they were purchased.?

Problem with selling them is finding someone who hasn't done their homework and then your sort of being a crook yourself then.

I think the bin is the best place for them and take it as a lesson on researching what your about to spend your hard earned on.

Sorry i said above it was the GTR forum but it was the supra forum that the big rant was recorded.

it may be worth a flow test before i bin them. I got them off fleabay - private sale. If they all flow correctly then is it worth still keeping them? surely not every injector this company makes is a pile of ****e??

Mapped 2 sets on Imprezas , 1 good one bad ..
Also tried mapping a set of 1000cc Venoms on a Skyline owned by one of our staff , completely gave up..
They were dreadful , injector scaling up and down all over the place between the 6 , fitted a set of 1200cc RC injectors instead and they are perfect...

I've seen some pretty lousy "flow matching" on RC injectors too ! I've also seen them lock out if you try to run too high fuel pressure.

Leon, if they test ok, they should be ok, if you know what I mean.

you're going to pay over a hundred quid to have them flow tested, when they are only a couple of hundred quid to buy?
So if they turn out to be gash you will have wasted even more money.

Bin them and be done, you'll be bitter if they come back no good and you've lost even more.

Heed the advice above, put it down to experience and research before purchase in future.

until they fail, then its more money down the pan.
I realise you want to turn it around and I hope for your sake they are ok, but sometimes its best to cut your losses and stop spunking cash chasing a lost cause.
Still, its not my injectors or my £50 so it is your call.

imo its NOT worth spending any more money on them.

if you do get them flow tested and they are all close to each other, then I would sell them along with the flow test report
