Year 2000 UK turbo - £3750 - Too good to be true?
I've just noticed that someone local to me is selling a 2000 UK turbo in silver with 40k on the clock and full service history, Mot and Tax. Is this an average price? I thought it was too cheap, and that's putting me off a bit as it's making me think there must be something wrong with it. I know the cambelt service is at 45k though(iirc).
Cheers, Alan

Might have FSH and all that, but it could still be a shed! On the other hand, the guy just might want a quick sale?
At 40k there shouldn't be a lot wrong, mechanically. I assume you know what a healthy engine and box should sound like, so maybe it's worth a look?
Possibilites - Accident repaired, stolen/recovered etc HPI or similar check would be advisable?

I doubt this will help you at all, but I bought my car (which is also a year 2000 uk turbo) for £6,450 with 41k on the clock, and the cambelt service etc had just been done. That was back in 2006 tho, so that doesn't really help does it! lol

The seller also mentions in the advert that he has all previous mot's and tax discs: which would suggest it's been quite well looked after?
Think I would do a HPI check anyway if I was going to look at it.

Prices have dropped quite a bit in the last few years. For instance, I paid £4500 for my Terzo a year ago, and I've probably spent about the same again on the car in the time i've had it. If I was to sell it now I'd probably ask 4-4.5k.

For info, I chopped in v similar car with 43k exactly a year ago (cam belt done the year previously) and got 5.5k p/x against STiPPP. Still up for sale at dealer for about 6.5k.
If its kosher the 3750 sounds a half-decent price (but not gob-smackingly so if quick sale is needed) even if the belt needs doing.
probably doen't help you much

I paid 3k for a mint my98 uk in silver, fsh, leather int,75k on the clock.Sounds like a good price to me,but its not so good a price i'd think anything was immediately wrong. If i were you id def check it out, just do the usual checks, and if the cam belt hasnt been done,at least youve then got a good lever to knock his price down.

Agree, they do exist, I have a one owner MY 2000 with 37k. Initial servicing with the stealers then a combination of qualified specialists and self for simple stuff. Suggest you check it out with an open mind.
