Default lamda sensor?

hi. Ive just fitted some headers onto my 1993 wrx, and was wondering whether it is best to have the lamda sensor on or leave it off. What are the advantages and disadvantages?
and also....
My mate has a 200sx and he has taken something off of it so it boosts fully in 1st and 2nd gear, (apparently) with this thing on it didnt boost fully in those gears. i was wondering if there was such a thing on a scooby?
Cheers.

you need that sensor.. with it disconnected the ecu will read 0volts on the sensor and think the car is lean on cruise and idle and throw fuel in..

move it to the top of the downpipe (where it is from 95 on) or refit to headers..

there is no restriction to boost in lower gears.
