Patience my friend, takes a while for a bit of soot to build up in the downpipe before you get some serious pop and bang action

The CEL light will come on more than likely - give it a 100 miles. Both my bug's did after this mileage on the Decat. The remap cleared it and made best use of that mod + others.

Can't you do damage to a newage if you decat it without getting it remapped or is that just an old wife's tale?
I know of a few classics that have got away with it ok.
I was advised it's a big no no on the 2.5ltr engine from two very reliable Subaru experts.

I'd put the old parts back on until you can afford one. You could damaged you engine.

Exactly. Shouldn't de-cat without a map. You might well mash the turbo and then the engine when all the little bits of metal go flying in.
5t.

Two companies on here and a mapper advised to drive mine well of boost till it was mapped. The bugs especially due to issues with boost higher up in the revs and spiking. Mine was only driven back from the garage and to the mapper which equated to the 100 miles and by the time i got to the mapper the CEL appeared. It was the CAT efficiency light and was cleared/mapped.
No problems since.
