I take it you are using the sensor that came with the gauge?

You could try swapping the cables over so the oil temp gauge reads the water temp? This would at least prove that the gauge is at fault or not.

No, not at all, it's just I've come across people changing from one type of gauge to another (make wise) and the sensor look identical, but will in fact be a different resistance etc.

I had this same problem when I changed from a psi to a bar boost gauge a couple of weeks ago.

The problem was that I'd plugged the wrong wires into the back of the gauges. Boost gauge was ok, but oil temp and pressure did as you are describing.

Swapped the plugs over between the two oil gauges and all was fine

you probably will find it does not start to register until oil is warmer than 50 degreees... take it out for a spin and see... it'll take a suprisingly long time to warm up..

Without looking, I'm sure that the oil temp starting temp is around 30 or 40 degrees anyhow.

Have you tried swapping over the cables like I suggested? It will prove the gauge is working fine, and then if that's the case, you can look at the sensor or wiring issue.

Don't forget the other advice about the cables in the rear of the gauges, might be that too

Hi there you clever peoples ..

I have been having a few issues with the gauges I bought in the group buy but thanks to Nick at Gauge place who is nothing less than fantastic as he's sorted one of the problems out, a faulty sender on the oil temp gauge.. The other problem I've got is my boost gauge keeps telling me I'm hitting 2 bar which is impossible, my engine would have gone bang.. when Pat mapped it last he set it to 1.3 wondered if anyone else has had this issue or whether there gauges have been spot on and really accuarate.

Just a thought, is Nuttynick on here the god at gaugeplace?
