new scooby owner
Hi girls and guy's. After 10 years of owning ford's I have just bought a mica blue turbo 2000 classic. After looking at the car on the autotrader web site for the last month I took the plunge and went to look at her yesterday. I live in the high peak just north of Buxton and the car was down near Newport south wales, quite a treck. So before I set of I rang my insurance company and let them know that I was thinking of buying a new car and I would want to change my insurance over. The lad on the other end of the phone advised me to ring back when I new I was definatly buying the car. Furry muff I thought so me the missus and little lad set off. The car was as the advert said so a deal was struck that took my st24 in px. The dealer had left naff all petrol in so of we went to the nearest petrol station where I rang my insurance company and told them about my new purchace. I was then told that they don't insure impreza's and as I have sold my mondeo would cancell my insurance. great 5 o'clock saturday afternoon, 170 miles from home, no insurance, no tax, and my family in the car. so I bought a copy of autotrader to try and get some insurance no look every one was shut. so i decided the only thing I could do was risk driving home. after getting lost for nearly 40 miles in the dark we made it home doing 65-70 all the way. So instead of enjoying my new purchace it's been stuck in the garage until green light open monday

you'll do alright for a quote, if you do decide to ring Keith Michaels insist on speaking to Gary Moulson as there is 2 Garys working there i believe. I don't use them myself but he comes well recommended on here for getting good deals and if you go down the modding route (sorry did i say 'if' i meant 'when') their good with that sort of stuff

Welcome to scooby ownership, and Scoobynet.
There was a thread on here about a guy who drove an Impreza Type R home without insurance and rolled it. Not good! But at least you didn't have any problems.
Definetly speak to gary moulson at keith michaels with regards to insurance. Or A plan.

cheer's for the welcome's. The missis carn't drive so I had to. It's not as if i did it on purpose I genuenly (spell) tried to get some insurance.Even the bloke at swift cover admitted they should have told me they wouldn't cover the scooby. I know it doesn't excuse driving with out insurance. It's the 1st time and last time i've done it. I'll try and get some pic's up when I figure out how to. Think the pic's might still be on the garage web site. swilliamscarsales.com. Is there any group meet's in the north derbyshire area?

looks a good un, top colour which looks better with the sun on it
headlight protectors as well, someone looked after it
last owner probably sold the wheels (or put them on a new scoob) and put them on
I used to prefer the older style wheels myself but they go with the year of the car so I prefer these now
enjoy

Finnaly sorted the insurance today and went with A-plan. So after two day's sat in the garage I finally got the chance to go for a blast. Loved it. It's great to feel that kick from the turbo again after driving a V6 mondeo. Started thinking if I should change the back light's to sti iteam's and change the side and front indicator's to clear's. Or should I leave it nice and standard? I've seen some nice standard looking mud flap's with gold subaru wrighting and badges are these factory iteams? sorry for the vague description lol. Think I'll change the back box back to standard been offered one for 40 note's in good nick. Is that a fair price?
