OK, now here is a question but its difficult to explain, so bear with me.

If I am in 2nd or 3rd (could be in other gears too, but not noticed) and am say doing 50mph waiting to overtake and just holding the throttle steady, I can hear a nasty rattltly type noise from the gear box or engine area.

If I accelerate it goes and if I decelerate it goes. Its only when holding the throttle steady??????

Any ideas?

 

What year? Classic? Possibly exhaust heat shield

It is a 2001 bugeye. I will check the shields (hadnt thought of that). I was just assuming that it was gearbox as it kind of sounds how I imagine it would siund. (If you get my drift lol)
