Does a Subaru ever rust?

Does a Subaru ever rust?
I was just thinking today: my car is 10 years old and the paint on it still looks great. No sign of any rust at all, and it's a UK car, AND it's not garaged.
If it was a ford it would have turned to dust by now.
Does anyone have a rusty Subaru?

I dont have a rusty subaru, but it can if its neglected as Iv found out. Its only small, just a little bit on my rear left arch but its slowly getting worse and its my fault for not delaing with it sooner. But as for the rest of the car, its top notch.
Remedy for the arch. Get it shot blasted, primed and then painted at the body shop.

my uk classic is nearly ten years old now and also has some small patches of rust developing around the arches which i need to get sorted
Also had a problem a couple of years ago with rust along the trim lines above the windscreen and rear window, ended up getting the glass taken out and stripped back to metal and the roof resprayed.
that said i use my car frequently in all weather and have done 55k miles in the last 3 years as a second car...just love to drive it
cheers

My old Uk Turbo had 142,000 miles on it when I sold it to JAMSCOOB on here in June 08. Not one bit of rust or bubbling was on the car anywhere. The car while in my possession was never garaged, but regurlarly waxed, and I hazard a guess looked after properly by former keepers too.
All depends on how they're looked after imho.
My current 205 only has a tiny 2mm slt of rust on the drivers side B-pillar (out of sight when door is shut), and thats 20 years old. Most times when washing that I wax it afterwards as it's not garaged either.

Words out of my mouth spring to mind, the imports especially, i had a Evo that wasn,t undersealed, thankfully tht wasn,t too bad at all, but many examples are.
Mind you, my Spec C isn,t either...

Mine is rusty, thanks to that damn rubber list that sits there from the factory... And my car haven't been driven in the winter since 2001. Most GC8 ive seen here in Sweden have been rusty, I dont know how it is in the UK but over here they salt the roads in the winter and thats a giant killer for the cars... No rust on any other place on my car though

MY00
waxed every month
washed every week and cherished by one owner
No Rust
(unless my eyesight is failing)
Biggest problem is the drivers driver mat keeps moving about as the **** thing keeps on coming out of the carpet as the er...hole is too big

This is because they are meant to be a base car ready to be turned into a rally car, They also have no cavity wax applied from the factory.
These procedures add weight to the vehicle & therefore make them less competetive.

As another poster said it's not the surface where you will get rust first, it's underneath.
Took the bumper off my MY00 two weeks ago and ended up repalcing the front crossmember as there was quite a bit of corrosion in it.
Start looking underneath things and you'll wish you hadn't LOL!
