Excellent!. I had one exactly the same. Only problem was when those twist grip gears decided they would change gear, or go into the white bit (nuetral) under acceleration. Generally ended up with me having a sqeaky voice! Anyone who had one will know what i mean.

Yep yep....I had that exact bike. Absolutely loved it. Happy memories of building ramps in the back garden and jumping over my brother pre BMX's. Weigh a ton though don't they. My mate round the corner quite literally had a purple chopper too!

This brings back memories, the Grifter itself was a pile of cr@p but us BMXers piled in to the local Raleigh dealer and spent all our pocket money on the handlebars, which were revolutionary at the time for us BMXers.

Chipper in Yellow and the Blue Grifter, ended up spraying it in a 2 tone black and gold and had the front forks electroplated before it was stolen from the front of the house.

marvelous mate. Had one the same as that in red. used to fold your rubber bit on the mudguard under to rub on your tyre to sound like a motorbike or was that just me?. A few days old and me and my cousin removed the rear wheel, hacksawed abit of the frame out and put a racing wheel in its place Looked like a back to front penny farthing Got pasted for that one. Eventually got the face lifted model with the long back mudguard with the hoop over it. Top bikes, progressed onto the Murray 10.
