Default BEST PLACE PRICE WISE TO BUY A PERFORMANCE CAT PIPE

just got back from mot station. i cant pass emissions. i am decatted

ive had the car for years. as its a 93wrx import my tester has been able to get away with it.

theres some new law/software he cant get around. best thing for me to do is buy a "sport cat" for it or just put the cat back on?

either way has anyone bought a "sport cat"? if so where from and how much etc...

am i going to loose a lot of power with a sport cat or cat back on

stew (more bloody money)

a sports cat like a ppp cat off a new age flows like a decat yet passes emissions, and scoobyworld do a sport cat downpipe to fit classics. they arent cheap tho.

or your mot tester could pop his probe up another cars exhaust.

not condoning this by any means

Is the centre cat on a classic not enough to pass the MoT? If it is, this would be quite easy to pop on for test day. Plenty for sale cheap on ebay.

Weird, I though Pre August 95 cars were cool on emissions ?

I would find a more friendly MOT station.

my tester is a friend of the family and "can get away with a few things but not this anymore" (his words not mine ).

thinking of buying a universal cat and fiting it into the midpipe in exchange of the mid silencer. doubt i will find one in 3" tho

got a soloution. my main worry is removing the downpipe. ive done them before but you make a mess if your unlucky as the bolts snap in the turbo etc...

so i have 2 options. both similar.

1, go to exhaustsuk pay £170 to have a 200cell sport cat fitted to the midpipe

2, buy a random one off ebay and fit myself

either way a bloody hassle!
