You gotta wait dude, it's only a few more days

I had the same dilemma last year dude and decided to try and protect the resale value a little by having a Y on the plate instead of an X. I had one of the last MY00's and waited about 2 months for it when i could have had a MY01 there and then.

So glad i didn't

Especially seeing how the MY01's are starting to look now now the aftermarket sector has got a grip

Definitely wait if you're bothered about resale value. Plus you can have a reg number like MY02 WRC...

Cool

You have to wait, think how nice it will be picking up your new car on the day the new number plates come out. Make it even sweeter being one of the first cars to have an "02" on the front.

Bet you wish they hadn't told you it had arrived now!

I'm in the same boat!!
Wasn't meant to arrive until April, got a call TWO weeks ago to say it was in, dealer advised wait until March!!
All depends on how expensive your carpet is if it cost a few bob go and get it now, mine is buggered and I've still got two more weeks to wait!

Shrewd idea would be to wait, if it was me I would get it asap. I know that when my P1 arrived I had to have that week.

It could be the longest two weeks of your life though!!!

Enjoy as I know I do.

Collecting it Saturday, it will have a private plate any way.

I've got to wait God knows how long for our two STi's, which we want delivered and registered BEFORE 1st March, despite the fact there are many others out there who will have their cars delivered and sitting in the dealers showroom for the next two weeks doing nothing because they don't want to register them until at least 1st March

I took that up with my dealer and he said if they hadn't paid for them they could arrange a swap and get the car down for me from another dealership.
Thought I would wait, then today in an email with huge bold lettering was a message stating my car had arrived.
HOORAY, I was preparing for another two week wait.

Sorry mate, your'e going to have to wait like me and WRXBOB. I have been waiting since last Thursday now for March 1st delivery and my carpet threadbare. I reckon WRXBOB's is down to the underlay because he's been waiting since last year.

Not long to go now, be patient

You guys are lucky back in the good old days in 1997 we had to wait months for imprezas. I was lucky became good mates with the salesman and got a cancellation on my first one and even then it took 7 months from start to finish. Mind due there were 20 people on the waiting list and the normal lead time was 12 months .

Funnily enough two weeks after I had it I took a mate to pick up his elise S1 (18 months wait for him in 1998) and the Lotus dealer offered me 1K above list for mine there and then against any car in the showroom. I turned him down though

Nearly there

I took that up with my dealer and he said if they hadn't paid for them they could arrange a swap and get the car down for me from another dealership.
Can you elaborate on this? Cheers

She got here before me.
Cant believe the difference in it compared to MY99.
Apart from the exhaust smell I love it.
So more comfortable, exspecially on the bumps and accelreation is lovely even though running it in sort of.
One question though:
Gone thorugh the whole manual and no explanation for the water spray, how and when do I use this???

cheers,

Big grin Dave
