How many miles can you get on a full tank?
Ok i've decided to start a new thread as i started talking about this in someone elses thread and felt a bit rude hijacking it.
The reason i ask is Phil said he once had 402 miles out of a tank and on another occasion after putting £40 in the light came on after 240 miles
Another guy said he had 320 miles out of his 04 wrx on a good run.
I've had my 2003 wrx 3 months and have done 5000 miles in it. Here's my best and worse...
03 wrx (standard apart from prodrive back box)
Best 260 miles
worse 206 miles
Just a bit worried mines not right if i can't get anywhere near these higher claims
What scooby do you drive, what mod's does it have (that would affect the fuel consumption) and what's your best and worse mileage on a full tank of super unleaded.

372 on my old P1. This one seems to get to 300 regularly, well before the light comes on.

Sounds about right. But, do you mean when the light comes on, or when you stutter to a stand still?
Far more useful if you actually bother to work out the mpg.
On all 3 of my classic scoobies, I got between 19mpg and 23mpg. I did get 37mpg once on a 50mph motorway cruise when it was around 30 degress celcius.

I'll let you do it for me chris
My best run 260 miles was a full tank and te light just came on when i filled it up. I never usually let it come on but was on a motorway heading towards services.

TBH Jonny I didn't see any better fuel consumption with the standard 02WRX I had before this car. It was a bit of a surprise when I bought the STi that the FC wasn't much different. It could be down to my heavy foot or a faulty fuel setting of course, but even when I was trying to conserve fuel it wasn't any better.

Normal weekly commute in my 06 WRX: 250-280 miles on A-roads
Best 315, I can't remember the worst - must have blocked it out
I fill to the brim (and over if not careful ) and only fill up 10-20 miles AFTER the fuel light comes on.
Std 95 RON Tescos unleaded - circa 25-27 mpg.
Could be worse - I only got 30mpg from my hyundai 2.0 coupe and that only had 140bhp

Who cares? They're made to drive and if we worried about fuel consumption we wouldn't have these cars!
Best - 199 miles from a 1/2 tank (28.9mpg)
Worst - Circa 110 miles from 1/2 tank (~20mpg)

as i say i was driving from yorkshire to just outside newquay and was travelling at a constant 70 mph not 56 mph like they say until i got the m1 where average speed camera's lay in waiting .
and the 240 miles i travelled to york from hull and back on a roads doing a steady 60 mph because of traffic (lots of old people too ) and the rest of the mileage just around town ,petrol is now alot cheaper so i get more miles out of just putting in £20 now and again as i did when petrol was at its highest .
example when petrol was at 118.9 or whatever i put £10 in when light came on and i got 38 miles around town if i did it now i reckon i could get around 54 miles .
and it is a wrx not an sti ,never had a problem with mpg in a scoob though i think they are pretty good compared to my old pulsar with was around 180 miles to a tank
