I got £600 burning a hole in my pocket at the moment and want to sweeten up the boring looking dash
Can't decide between a set of Defis or a double din to replace the standard unit...
Opinions please.

it would really depend on your location old chap? I would personally go for a smart double din and a cheap set of good looking gauges.
if it was me with £600 burning a hole and it was a double din and gauges I would buy the following![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
1. 07' Series JVC KW-AVX700 Double Din Screen DVD Headunit on eBay, also DVD VCD Players, DVD Players Monitors, In-Car Entertainment GPS, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 24-Nov-08 21:00:00 GMT)
2. XyberAutos
that comes to £495.95 and leaves you just over £100 to get them fitted and a pint

Defi's every day of the week.
YouTube - Defi gauges in Subaru WRX Wagon
Wanna watch dvds or listen to the music, save that for the house.
There's only 1 soundtrack i would wanna listen to in the car.

These look smart PLX Devices Inc. - Custom Digital Gauges, Wideband O2 Air Fuel Ratio, OBD 2, Data Loggers
Link a few together and you have all the gauges you will need to monitor things![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Also you can load your own screen into them so you can make them look like any gauge you want

Thanks for all the replies guys, but if I'm going to go for the gauges, it just has to be defis
Good/bad points of both for me are:
Defis: Look cool, and will know for sure when the engine is properly warmed up for some REAL driving lol
BUT
may look stupid with a standard headunit
Double-DIN: Crap std unit, plus will have access to my 1000s of ipod tunes and vids
BUT
security concerns, cannot remove fascia so prone to break in
