Question has anybody went from 290bhp to about 340 bhp??

As question asks has anybody did this?

Reason I ask is I shall be heading this route very soon and want to know if the difference in feeling is worth it.

When I remapped the wrx from 215 to 286 it was nigth and day...will it be the same again?

Cheers]

My first remap got me from 225 to 269 and as you say it felt like night & day, i then went from 269 to 333 and it never felt like such a big leap, don't get me wrong you do feel the difference it's just that it doesn't seem such a big leap, hmmmm now what would 400 feel like

Ah cheers lads.

I know what you mean though with the second remap feeling.

You must have felt though as if your car was rapid at 333?

I am thinking of fitting the injectors and turbo myself and up pipe.

Should this be hard to do?
I am a novice at doing things like this, but i quickly pick things up.
Had a look at some pictures and think I could do it.
How much do you reckon a garage would charge for install of turbo, injectors and up pipe?

Cheers lads

Oh yeah car is rapid but you do get used to it

Didn't do the work myself but to change turbo, up-pipe & injectors i would of thought anywhere between 3-5 hours depending if there are any problems

I went from 215bhp classic to 330 in one go. The difference was ridiculous and I still find it a blast when I floor it.

I fitted my own spark plugs, turbo, downpipe, fuel pump, 3 port b/s, new intercooler and exhaust and it was all quite straight forward/. Just a bit of reading up and research on hear and I saved myself a fortune.

Have to agree Bob, i,ve had a few cars now near on proven 500BHP, a cossie and my Evo 8 MR, but i think 330-350 in a classic is an absolute hoot to drive and have as a road car, this TYPE R i,ve just bought i can,t get enough of it....

Any chance of the paid members being able to get me a couple of articles on how to fit the turbo and injectors and up pipe to a newage wrx (bug)?

Cheers

I think half the fun is fitting the stuff yourself like when I did the STI intercooler

Cheers

could be a handfull in a WRX, but bound to bring a smile to your face

i went from 265 to 320odd and it was great, bored $hitless with it now, but at the time it was a big jump.

if you've got the funds, why not?

forgot to say turbo and up-pipe are not that hard to fit but oil return on turbo can be a bit of a pita to get back on

My first stage of tune was approx 290bhp (guestamation as it never went on the rollers) on a td04 turbo, next it went to a measured 330bhp/355lbs.ft on a tdo5-20g and felt like a different car, bearing in mind its the increase in torque that your going to feel most, then it went to 370bhp/405lbs.ft, very similar jump in power and torque and just as noticable.

Quick Reply: has anybody went from 290bhp to about 340 bhp??
