Quickshift Info required please

Wanting to fit a quickshift I obviously looked at the various suppliers ( I.E. known to us on this net) and must confess that I am no wiser!.
Most appear to be nothing more than a gearlever change only and from some of the photographs that Iv`e seen vary from nothing more than a bit of bent mild steel with a tube welded on to accept the original bush to a full blown Scoobyword quickshift, which appears to be a fully engineered shift mechanism at £225.42 inc vat, or is this a copy of the Prodrive one?
So question is chaps, what make did you fit ? How easy was it, and what is your opinion of the results? and of course the costs please.
Your opinions would be greatfully appreciated.

I sat in a demonstrator car in a Subaru dealer showroom in Derbyshire that had a fully loaded MY01 that had this. The gearshift throw (ie first to second and third to fourth) was MUCH shorter than my MY99. It was almost like a switch. Whether this constitutes a £200 cost over the standard shift is very debatable, as I find the shift on my car suberb. All I will say is just try some other new cars and compare. I tried a Peugeot 206 GTI recently and the gear lever throw was comparable to a wooden spoon in a jam jar full of wood screws and the throw was awful.

Well I've just fitted one of the modified gear lever type short shift kits and it's not exactly made much of a difference...
I think that you'll find you need one of these modified pivot point gear levers and the modified linkage kit as well to make any significant changes from the MY98 and MY99 on type shift paterns.
So for my next trick...

Thks for your comments all, much appreciated. The reason I posted the thread was that Power Engineering do one that looks a nice piece of kit but at £217 for a modded lever only I thought is a bit excessive when you consider the price of the fully engineered Prodrive one for not much more and I wondered which is the better value for money and with what results.

But ilt looks good, it has pivot points, you can make it lean where you want, and also adjust the hight of it, i think i saw it for $59 looks very good.
