Guess what did on Valentines Day!

Morning All!
Just to let you know Natalie and myself are engaged!!! I surprised her by booking 2 days off work and whisking her away to London. On Valentines morning I presented Natalie with two tickets, first class on the Eurostar to Paris.
We visited the Eiffel Tower in the afternoon where it was absolutely freezing. In the evening I had booked a meal on the "Les Bateaux Mouches", a six course meal on a river boat which went up and down the French canal - past all the sights. On the last course and right in front of the "lit up" Eiffel tower, I asked Natalie if she would do the honour of becoming my wife, and presented an absolutely fabulous ring - and she accepted! She was in total shock, from the surprise break to London and then France and then the proposal. I couldn't be happier, more in love, and both of us are so pleased along with our families.
Just thought I would let you all know!!

Good plan -- get engaged on Valentines day then you can give the engagement ring instead of a Valentines Day present. If you get engaged on another day you will have to shell out twice in a year. Pull the same stunt on your wedding day (get married on 14th Feb) then you'll be sorted forever, as your (expensive) anniversary will always be on the same day as (expensive) Valentines Day.
Then the best bit -- spend what you have saved on mods.
Carl -- anniversary three weeks after Valentines Day

Never met you - but congratulations!! I think you should be nominated for the most romantic man on Scoobynet - that was *very* impressive!!
...and to think I got asked whilst I was driving to Kent and Chris was "a little worse for wear"...you reading this dear?!
Hope all goes well, just make sure you two do exactly what you want for the wedding - it's amazing the pressures you get from certain members of the families! (well...mine anyway...)
(oh, and scooby's make great wedding cars!)

Topping it all off, catching the metro at 0100 back to your hotel!!
Them were the days when I coulddrink, might as well move darn sarf' with the amount I put away now
All the best to ya both

Apart from making me want to vomit out of sheer protection of my masculinity, and of course rampant jealousy, I have to say well done.
If I had anything even approaching that amount of style I would not be where I am now. Good one guys!
