If they are running right they are great little cars.

Handling is not brilliant, feel very nose heavy and understeer when pushed hard.

My last one was running a front mount, apexi cone, de-cat system and greddy boost controller at 1.2bar, std ecu and turbo and ran really well and was faster than my impreza which runs VF35, de-cat system, apexi power FC, hks panel, walbro and 1.35bar.

I've had a few though and they do seem a little tricky to get running right, so many hold back and don't feel quick.

I think they are superb little cras and the ones I've had have been super reliable.

Dont do it!!!!!
I owned 1. it was tuned to 320bhp. Even 911s were struggling to keep up with it. After 12 weeks i was buying a new engine, then came the gearbox, wheel bearing after wheel bearing. After 6 months and 9k later I ended my love affair. I did wet myself everytime I drove it though.!

Ugly, but very quick if tuned properly. The sr20det engine is a solid engine and can handle circa 350hp....however as said the transmission is rubbish and depending on how you drive could require a rebuild or replacement

Had one prior to my Scoob, was a great little car, ran 310bhp reliably for over a year including many RWYB events. Sold it 8 months ago and the new owner hasn't had any problems either.

Love these little ricers. Dont go getting one with 17" wheels tho cos thats a sure fire way to cook your gearbox. These things run best with 15's.

Great handling and not as common as scoobs.

I really enjoyed mine. The wifey didn't. It was remapped to about 265bhp and would see off my UK Classic running 274bhp. Miss those days bombing up the M6 with me in the GTi-R and the wifey in the Subaru, overtaking each other etc.

Good handling, noisey inside. Never had a single problem with it. Less of an image than the subaru, because a lot of people still don't know what they are.

Here's mine. Nice plate come on it too.

I had 17's, running about 265bhp and did about 25k miles without a single problem. I couldn't see what all the "they break" fuss was about.

I had one for 2 years. Great little car and I'm always having a look on PH or the forum.

Mine needed a clutch replace but trying to teach the wife to drive with a 3 paddle clutch was asking for trouble.

The engine running properly is a very good engine. 'boxes are a bit rubbish but they can be repaired/replaced.

To be fair they were quite an advanced little car for their time and there is no way anything like them could be built again without a stupid price tag (hence a FWD Focus RS)

The main problem with them is that a good one is £3k but an MY00 UK turbo Impreza is £3k and although it won't be as quick it won't cost you the earth in fuel/insurance/repairs. They are buggers on fuel - only my 4.0 Jeep comes close.

I always wanted one before I could afford a Impreza, I love the fact most people just think it a normal Nissan Sunny, very quick as standard.

i had two of these before the scoob they are lovoely cars and lighter than scoobs. there was always something about them that when you put your foot down you were worried something might go wrong engines are solid if tuned right gearboxes have this bad reputation but if you use them right there fine. they do have very bad transmission loss as i found out at the rolling road days i went to in mine. they give you more of a kick back when you hit boost than the scoob. but you just feel in the scoob that when you do put your foot down its strong and solid. i love pulsars in ivory white was contemplating havin my scoob sprayed in that colour
