Cant believe mentality of some people -woke this morning at 2.30am after I heard what I thought was somebody trying the door handles of my car outside - turns out this morning they had ripped the bonnet scoop off of - F****k Tw*ts..
Does anyone know a breaker (& tel number) that would keep such parts in? - maybe a specialist Scooby breaker..-then Ive got the issue of getting it painted...
Havent rang dealer yet to cost up new replacement, but I can well imagine what it could be.
Any one had a similar experience and can offer advice
Cheers Trevor
Im in the East Yorks area if that helps

Trevor,
Sorry to hear that, have you reported it to the police? If not then do it, it does mean you spend 30mins at the police station, and the odds are nothing will ever get done about it, but as long as it is recorded as a statistic you are at least highlighting the problem.
I for one am sick of bits going missing / getting damaged on my car, then when I turn on the news I'm getting told crime is down
It is only down because people do not see any point in reporting it. Sorry rant mode disabled.

Trevor,
It makes me mad that people have so little respect for other peoples property that they are prepared to do things like this. Whenever I see some crappy Vauxhall Nova with a bonnet scoop I wonder just how they got it...
When you have the next scoop fitted maybe you should have razor blades hidden around the inside edge of it??
PLEASE IGNORE THE SMILIE THAT WAS AN ACCIDENT!!

This really annoys me cause they sell scoops in auto shops now for about 40-50 quid. It's gonna cost you a hell of a lot more than that to fix your car.
The scoops I've seen in the shops are similar but probably sh1te, so perfect for your average C reg Nova or Metro.
Good luck and don't do the razor-blade thing, they'll only sue your *** off, after all, crooks have more rights than their victims.

Will cost another £70 to paint & fit but at least there was no bonnet damage
Cheers for help - Trevor

Fortunately not - hopefully just a case of getting second scoop, painting & fitting -expecting a total bill around £150...
It might put paid to my plan to buy some 4-pots next week for the moment - In still in pissed off mode ie What's the point in fixing it if some ******* is going to nick it or damage it - might as well get a car no-one will want to bother with...
Cheers for concern Scotty

Sympathy mate. I had the same done to me last June. Unfortunatly they creased the bonnet by the windscreen which could not be pulled out. It cost me 600 notes for new bonnet scoop and painting! I have since had some mods done so that the alarm will sound when tampered with. Also modified the scoop so that the plastic bits on either side are metal brackets that bolt in and make it much less flexible and able to be pulled off.

I've had mine done a couple of times - I'd check your bonnet again Trevor the flat metal between the scoop and the windscreen such be just that FLAT. Mine isn't - a wee lip just behind the scoop was the damage left after the 1st theft.
Not nice

Sorry to hear about the bonnet scoop.
I have been broken into a number off times and the latest was someone nicking my clear indicators and tried the foglights (99 lights)
I had the same feeling as you. Why replace then when they will nick them again.
I have now got my indicators in with my side lights, so that I do away with the front indicators.
This mod was done by some on the bbs and I will thank them again
(p,s. still waiting for the pictures and diamentions for the mesh, if you read this,Moz)
