It arrived - 2 questions
At last
My STI ver6 spoiler arrived. Its going to paint on Monday
Going to take my spoiler off tonight tho
1st question - My seats have a handle on the side which allows them to fold right forward. Does this mean they are from a 3 door - No problem just wondering
2nd Question - How to get my current spoiler off without wrecking the bootlid
Its held on with 2 bolts (as its a sport) an the rest tigerseal or something similar. How do i remove this
Cheers

well its on pretty dam hard. Since im reselling the spoiler to my mate i dont want to destroy it.
I thought about a screwdriver an wedge it under an just go to town on it haha. Will give it a good try tonight. OR i will head the boot up on the inside with a heat gun an hopefully it will just pull off.
Failing that a bit of rope round it. Tie it to the gate an drive off lol

Q1: I think all UK Impreza Classics (saloon and SportWagon) had split/fold rear eats. Its the JDM models that didn't have this feature.
Q2: You need a deep socket to undo the bolts that secure the spoiler to the boot lid. To remove the tiger seal, I would guess you heat it up with a hairdryer to soften the glue. Then once you have removed that, use tar and glue remover to remove the left behind residue. The wash the area carefully then re-apply some more sealant when you have the new spoiler painted and ready to fit.

just fitted mine needed to drill 6 more holes in the boot lid as only 2 lined up.
have you dry fitted it, before sending it off to the sprayers??
here is a quick run down on what i did
removed old spoiler
got new spoiler and made a cardboard cut out of the underneath
cut the tops of some bolts and turned them into the fixing holes on spoiler
laid card over to mark card
transfered card on to boot lined up the 2 holes the lined up and marked the other 6 , remove card and drilled
when putting your new spoiler on put a couple of the thread bars into the a couple of holes and place spoiler on boot lid , these help hold it in place and stops spoiler from slipping while you get a couple of other screws in , then remove the thread bars with some long noise pliers
hope this helps if your fitting your own

just black foam draft seal that you use for normal household doors
wilko's best place .
just hides any little gaps that might appear once the nuts have been done up.
not everyone uses it , just my opinion
