4wd vs 2wd accident stats
#1
4wd cars are often perceived to be 'safer' than 2wd cars, due to improved cornering under power.
Now, most of us know that backing off sharply in a the middle of a bend is not a good idea in any car. However, it occurs to me that the driver of a 4wd car may be travelling that little bit faster, and will therefore need to be that little bit quicker to catch a slide than if they were driving a 2wd (particularly fwd) car.
So, does anyone know of any statistics that show relative number of accidents (not involving other vehicles obviously) for 4wd vs 2wd cars?
Just wondering.
