Considering going from Evo VI to blobeye JDM STi...
Morning all Scoobynetters!
I haven’t posted in this site in well over a year now!!
I currently own a white Evo VI, running approx 400hp/400lbft reliably. I am semi-considering getting rid of it for a blobeye JDM STi. Has anyone made the move from a 350-400hp Evo VI to a Newage JDM STi? How did you find the drive to be different? What differences will there be in the two cars? Obviously the Subaru is going to feel generally newer, and have a better interior. What is the handling like in comparison? The Subaru’s are heavier, so in the real world how much will this affect performance ie a 320hp Evo vs a 320hp stock JDM Sti – would there be a massive difference in acceleration/performance?
Also, how reliable and strong are the engines in these, and also the cars in general? Roughly what sort of power can they be tuned to to retain reliability, and for what approx cost?
Note: it would be the revised blobeye I would be going for 54/05 plate onwards.
Apologies for so many questions!
Cheers

You drive the Subaru, the Evo drives you!
The engine's are very reliable and strong with tuning being cheaper than an Evo. There are alot of bargains to be had with the current climate so don't just buy any. FSSH is a must IMO too.
As far as power goes would depend on weather or not it's going to be a daily driver or track car...
Gotta love the Evo 6 though...

You can take them to about the power you currently have without taking them apart.
There's never really much between these two rivals. Personal perferences take over a lot. More control with the subaru though for sure.

WRT OP, going from a 400bhp to 320bhp I think you will be disappointed. Need to compare like with like. You will need to expect it not to perform as well. IMO.
