Default 1st scoob bought today did I get a good deal?

Just bought my 1st scoob today its a mint 56 plate UK car, hawkeye WRX in Silver with FSSH. Has done 12500 miles and got 1yr subaru dealer waranty with it.

Screen price was £8999 I got it for £8600.

I have got to put tax on it though, which is £220 for 6 months!

will be picking it up in a couple of weeks, what do you reckon?

One thing that concerned me on the test drive was the travel on the brake pedal before anything started to happen. Is this a normal character of the car?

Seems a decent price but it is a buyers market.
If it is from Subaru dealer they should do the xxx point check prior to releasing the car so just mention your concerns to them.

THINK YOU COULD OF HAGGLE SOME MORE OF LIST PRICE as its a buyers market , I just bought a 55 plate M5 for just over £19K...now that a bargain

brakes should be firm , you might find that its need bleeding/ pads/or disc and pads

Yeah, its from a subaru dealer, they are going to check the brakes and give it a full service and buff out some minor scratches.

If it doesn't feel right I will get them to sort it.

I am really pleased with it, looking forward to getting some miles under my belt with it.

Been looking on Autotrader and seemed the best uk car and mileage for the year on the site.

just miffed about £400 a year tax, when a pre 23rd March 06 car is around £200 a year, thats the government for you though.

Hawkeye is a great looking car IMHO and at 12K miles it's hardly run in LOL

I did a bit of arm wrestling myself, I started at £8400 and ended up at £8600.

The dealer said the car cost him 14k over 6 months ago, he showed me all the reciepts and paperwork.

I wanted an SL with heated leather seats and a sunroof, but also wanted a UK car and low mileage. Something had to give.

Well done on the road tax, I'd have paid a little more for an SL.

hope you enjoy it!

The Audi dealer over in Birmingham had a '57 WRX with less than 10k miles selling for £9995 a month or so ago. I suspect it was an EU-import, but even so quite a bargain. Sold after a few weeks.

I wouldn't want an Impreza as a family car again, but at the rate prices are dropping I may well be able to consider a Hawk WRX as a weekend car later in the year....

As you can see I am not the best arm wrestler, or negotiator!!

would be interested to hear of other similar deals to see how they compare?

I feel happy with the deal though, I have been looking for a while now and I could hang around for another couple of months for the deal of a lifetime, but I just wanted to get a scoob and start living the experience and the thrill of driving it.

I am sure it will continue to depricate a more steeply in the current climate, but I have wanted to own one for some time now.

looking forward to driving it!
