Default burning fan belt

its not on my subaru its my old 4g civic vtec, tried starting it about a month ago the fan belt was squeeling and it then started smoking ,badly. anyway just got round to replacing it but the same thing just happened untill the belt snapped, i'm guessing the alternater is seized ,

any ideas what to do?

Yep, i would have said the same.

Take the belt off and spin the pulley.

yep one of the pulleys is siezed id guess. try them by hand til you find the right one
