Question Things to look out for when buying?

Hi all im new to this forum and looking for a bit of much needed help ,, im a keen car enthusiast and are thinking of buying a bugeye/ blobeye impreza wrx, i wont be buying anything with over 50k on the clock,, but i am just wondering what are the main things i should look out for when buying? Get hold of the service schedule, check it's had a timing belt when necessary ! Pricey !

If its got a dead body in the boot you might not want to take the pi55 with your offer.

not sure if the bug eye and blob are the same as the classic but check the diffs, do this by driving for at least 15mins untill the car is upto normall running temperature, then drive in circle on full lock slowlly, i would allways do this after the centre diff went on my car not long after buying it, it had 46000 miles on when i bought it, the diff goes slowly so its harder to notice at first , eventually it knocks and grinds with less than full lock, you would also feel it through the steering wheel.

Clutch is always a good one to check put it in top gear at fairly low revs then floor it let it get full boost (to get max torque) and make sure it doesn’t slip
