couple of blob eye questions.
My car is an my05 wrx and i just have a few quick questions.
Is there anywhere in the car to put the leather wallet with the manual and stuff in it? My classic had a shelf in the glove box but i cant find one anywhere in the new one and it takes up loads of room in the glove box.
Secondly, when i turn off the engine and want to put the stearing lock on ive found that i have to turn it loads to find the locking point. If i remember to turn the stearing wheel upside down before knocking the engine off its really easy to lock but i dont always remember. Its no big deal just wondered if its the same on all of them?
Finally, what tyre pressures does everyone use on standard alloys?
Cheers

Same as above, I put the folder etc in the house. Its takes up too much room in the glove box.
Tyre pressures - Book says front at 33/34 psi (230kPa) and rear at 32 psi (220kPa), I up'd this by 2 psi on each corner and felt the difference - for the better.

its a leather wallet which has an instruction manual in it. If the car is stolen i cant imagine that being my main worry. Every other car\van ive owned or driven has some kind of shelf or drawer for this.

stoplock easier cause in general you have to turn the steering wheel a mile to get it to lock and with no power to it this can be hard stop lock only takes a 30 secs and with no effort and is better deterent as so visible
as for shelf for doc`s it don`t matter really lol
just stick it under a seat or something doubt you would ever really need it with you unless on a ong haul trip or something. Greig
Thanks

but if i turn the steering wheel upside down before i knock the engine off it locks really easily and you dont have to turn it for "miles" . Ive just allways found this a bit strange and just wondered if its normal on the blobeye or if someone has had the steering wheel off or something in the past.
Sorry for the obviously annoying questions and for thinking that maybe somewhere in my car is a shelf or pocket that i just havnt found yet, how stupid of me to think that just because my classic had one and also every other car ive ever been in that this might have one! Its not that im bothered about where it goes and it will now just live somewhere in the house it was just a question.

The point is , the car steering lock can be snaped or knocked off in seconds.
It takes a bit longer to get a good anti theft device off and is also a good deterrent.

It's not a good idea to park any car with steering lock on (ie wheels turned) esp half to full lock. Puts a lot of undue stress on steering components, as well as tyres not sitting square to the road.
IMHO it's better to leave steering wheel lock off and hope it locks after some scum bags moves off, hopefully catching them unaware..! But TBH, these days it's unlikely anyone would try and take the car without the keys, therefore locking the wheel is pointless..!

Pish! no stress unless you have forced the half turn and then lock it.
If you roll into that position naturally, the lock should engage and there will be no stress at all. Thats one of the rare times you have spoken utter tosh!

It's not a good idea to leave a car parked for any length of time with the steering turned (ie steering lock) especially > half lock. It says as much in the owners manual of most cars..
And yes I'm aware that, when parking on a hill the highway code recommends parking with front wheels turned towards the kerb to prevent the car rolling any distance should the parking brake fail.. ... but the HC's priority is safety not mechanical sympathy.. TBH on the rare occasion I have to park on a hill I do this, but only say 1/4 turn towards the kerb..
So there pish and chips..
