Question Anyone on here selling this?

2008 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STi EVO M3 MODIFIED on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 01-Mar-09 15:39:35 GMT)

Why spend £5k on mods instead of buying an STi in the first place?

Probably did it in bits and drabs. I know there's plenty of guilty WRX owners who have spend a fortune on their cars making them into an STi bracket for looks and performance, without just selling and buying a better base car.

tbh i don't agree, my cars is a uk turbo, tis way way above sti spec, in performance and handeling. so y would i want to waste addition money on parts i intended to replace?

i'm still runing the same engine, but changed turbo, gerbox, suspension, ecu etc etc. done it over a period of 3 years and tend to be a case of when it break put uprated parts on. admitedly i do have longer term power ambitions.

Yes but the car in the link is only just 12 months old, so the owner possibly had all the money that he has spent on upgrades available straight away, rather than doing it a bit at a time like most of us, I think that is the OP's point

I hadn't clicked the link.

So what is the price difference between an 08 WRX and an 08 STi?
- I thought the WRX was down to £15k.

The link is the subject of the thread though!! Haven't a clue of the price difference between the WRX & STi I'm afraid, I was just trying to explain the original posters' point.

Yup.
That was the point I was making.

I would have bought an STi originally, better brakes, more power, etc but there was a large price differential at the time and my WRX came with 5 months Subaru proven warranty included.

To buy a brand new WRX for £17-18k then to spend £5k+ modding it (screwing up the warranty in the process) instead of just buying an STi in the first place genuinely puzzles me..

Why put "Evo" & "M3" in the Ebay Header? If I was searching for a M3 then the presence of a Scoob in the search would just annoy me ...

TX.
