The WRX SA was a cheap lower spec model introduced when the 'Wagon was launched. Its a WRX 'Wagon without a rear spoiler and with some other features deleted. This made it a little lighter, but it was lighter because the expensive bits werent there. NO Impreza has aluminium wings or boot lid skins, theyre just very cheap and thin steel. As James has said, it has a 220PS engine, the same as any other early 'Wagon. I would add that they have a steel bonnet, but Ive come across enough cars now which buck the convention to feel that Subaru sometimes used what was to hand. It certainly shouldnt have an expensive aluminium bonnet, as this would increase the cost and it was money they were cutting, not weight, that was simply a by-product.
