Are non turbos welcome?
Hi all, just bought a 99 2.0 Sport, needed something to replace my rusty Puma and as I do a lot of round town/short trips for my job a turbo was out. I'm collecting it on Monday, then I have a week off to get to grips with it!

I dont think that List-B tyres would be worthwhile on a Sport. Its only a 2 litre GL tarted up with a Turbo bumber and obsolete 15" wheels. The fuel economy might come as a nasty surprise too, because as well as being sluggish theyre not that much better than a turbocharged car when it comes to petrol...

Im laughing at the foolish 'Sport' owner; who negged me for pointing out the Sports heritage (or lack of it: it was specified by the importers to cash in on the Turbos demand and it was extremely over-priced), disappointing performance and poor economy.

How do you find out who has negged you?

If your puma was the 1.7 then the scoob will not exactly be exciting in comparison. Puma's handling is exceptional for FWD and great steering - certainly better than a sport and almost as much fun as a Turbo.
I speak from experince, had a Turbo and partner a Puma, she used to get up early an take the scoob (sometimes if i was off), the Puma never dissappointed as an alternative
Not knocking the sport really, the Puma is a great car
Enjoy your car and ask plenty of questions/get stuck in on here

I know the Puma is great but I was loosing the battle against the rust and it's boot was too small for my job. I hardly ever get the chance to do really 'spirited' driving any more so unfortunately practicality wins.

But..... It has gone down on record as being the best handling standard-classic Subaru,
Still 4wd, but with an underpowered engine.
Ask anyone whos actually driven both.
Anyway, welcome to the 'Scooby'Net Forum.
