Firstly, I need to apologise for this very mundane, often asked question!!
I have just been given quote to perform a 'full' service on MY04 WRX. This includes, plugs, engine & gearbox oil, filters etc and general checks.
It was last serviced at 24,000 and has just turned 34,000. I don't know why the service intervals are at strange mileages (ie not 20k and 30k) but my logic is the car had done 9000 since its last service so it needs doing!!
I have been told that the cam belt was changed at 24k so does not need doing. I have been quoted £290 for this service by a independent garage near Chester. They are reliable as I have used them on my old WRX about 2 years ago and seemed to do a good job.
So, the million dollar question...!!!
Is this a reasonable price? Anyone got any other suggestions to go visit in the Chester/Wirral area?
Many thanks guys for your input!

That service you have been quoted sounds like a 30k service (plugs, oil etc), which at under £300 is a good price. Just make sure they use good oils and service parts.
Why was the cambelt changed at 24k
should be replaced during the 50k service.

Maybe he was just mega paranoid!!
Cheers guys. They do use good oil, well they did last time my old WRX went in. Sounds like I'll be doing OK.
