New or old opinions required..
Hello to all, your opinions would be appreciated...
I have £14k, and can either get a new WRX (hatch) or a 57plate STI (only 4k miles) I know for the purest...it would be the STi every time.
The new WRX appeals due to the fact new un touched....and latest model. Bit of tweaking as we go along.
The STi for the very fact of being a STi and last of old shape and only 4k miles...
Your opinions would be appreciated.....pros and cons of each?
Has the new shape really being takn on by the scooby enthuasiasts yet?
thanks in advance,
Bevstar...247.

STiiii it is then. Thanx....for the input, appreciated, I guess the sti if looked after should keep good residual value also...it only has 4k miles on it.
What if any quick tweaks will it require, not looking to rebuild cars or anything like that, Will it need suspension drop?
Exhaust? Deffo 18" wheelz I think, what colour???
Also sourced a mesh grill replacement from Zunsport? Any feedback on their products.
cheers,

A version 5 or a 6 sti type R is the real 'purist' choice for around £6k. The models you've mentioned I wouldn't even contemplate owning or buying.

if its a my08 wrx then imho leave it be, the newer my09wrx has more power, better handling and same if not better turbo than the MY07/06 STI ...
but with the STI you do get the more durable 6spd box, the brembos etc and nothing to do except enjoy it
for me STI >08wrx hatch if it was a my09 wrx hatch then i'd say do it ...

Get the 57 plate sti. Whatever you do to a wrx it will never be like an sti, unless you have thousands to spend, and even then the sti is the the car I would choose ever time. New shape wrx's have the worst ever write ups, masses of unwanted bodyroll, not as good as the old shape cars. Hope this helps. Thousands of people on here bought wrx's and then wanted sti's, I've never heard of nayone buying an sti then wishing they'd bought a wrx!

Many thanx...to all, the feedback has helped if not focussed me to the STI...deal done, view and pick tomorrow morning....YES!
However I will need 18" upgrade only got to decide what colour? Stay original Goal'd or something a lil different? I have always liked gunmetal, but on blue chassis, mmmmm not sure?
cheers, Bevstar...
