Default Induction Kit Apollo or K57?

Thinkin of fittin an induction as one of the next stages of upgrading my 06 Hawkeye STI PPP.

Any suggestions - was lookin at the K57 kit, but have heard various positives and negatives with regards to cold air feed etc?

Is the Apollo kit any better and do you "plumb it in" to the exisitng pipework so it feeds from the current air scoop? Also what does it sound like is it really noisy?

Comments appreciated.

Thx

Ronnie

In my opinion go for the APS wing mounted kit. I have one fitted to my RA-R. Excellent quality. It's situated inside the wing so it draws cold air from there, rather than from inside a hot engine bay.

The only problem is, the APS will require your MAF sensor to be re-scaled otherwise you will experience problems.

I have been advised that the STI air intake is fairly efficient and adding a CAI will not give good value for money.

Good panel filter may be your better option.

Standard intake is good to flow 400bhp and then some. Going with an uprated panel filter may be the better option. I only changed to the APS intake as I had an FMIC fitted so it was a necessity rather than choice.

Thx for the help.

Following on from the K&N bie. I've been on the their website and although lots of sites (especially ebay) specify a 57i kit (57-0626) for my 2006 2.5l WRX STI this is not listed as one of the approved vehicles!!! And to be honest this type does look like it sits far too close to the engine?

The only ones listed on there official site approved for my car are the Typhoon kits (the ones withe the heat shield)

Anyone got any ideas or had any experience with these?

Cheers

Ronnie

get an apollo same as this.................

Induction Kits and Panel Filters : Subaru Impreza K&N Induction Kit

they are an excellent bit of kit, it's got the cold air feed with it so you can run it either inside the wing or straight to the fog lamp cover (if you have an sti or wrx with them fitted) it also get rid of the resonator box aswell.

HI Andy,

I'd love too it looks to just the sorta thing I'm after, but as it says on the link you gave "only available 2001-2005" mines a 2006 WRX STI.

Must admit I love my car but getting gear for it is a right pain

But the MAF would still need re-scaling for such a kit so the OP is better off going with an uprated panel filter.
