Cobra do not seem to have a very good reputation. Have you considered buying a Bel Radar detector?
I bought a Bel Radar Detector (Model 946 Cordless) from an American web site. The UK price was about £300 and I paid £140. I later got a £40 bill for duty and VAT but even so it was still a good saving. The web site was:-
