Default Opps Focus Rs blew up!

Well Fri night popped to mc donalds for some food pulled out and there was a focus rs infront of me, we came to a duel carraige way and he put his foot down so i went as well, just came out of second and BANG! Rs was in black and white smokes and bolts flyingout the back, The Rs was modded and ment to be running 350bhp @ the wheel, my car got covered in oil as i was just going by, i went round the roundabout and came back to offer help/tow back where ever he wanted, looked at the engine bay the Oil filter was flipped round facing the wrong way and nuts and bolts everywhere,

i Real shame love these cars! Suppose Excuse of more power next time

really feel for this guy.

Not necessarily as the RS is FWD is it not. surely wouldn't have similar transmission losses to a Scoob

Still feel for the guy though, is a shame.

Shame to see any performance car go bang, especially someone's pride and joy.

Can't imagine what it would have been like to drive, though, as I drove a standard one and thought it was one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life. The wheel was being ripped out of my hand every time I hit the throttle.

A mate had a proper race with one this week in Golf GTI. Was very surprised that there was virtually nothing in it. I thought the RS was supposed to be faster than its 212bhp would suggest.

Darc, is that a pic of the car that went pop? I only ask as I know of a guy in Harlow with an RS that's running some decent power, looks fairly standard apart from some anthacite standard alloys.

My old Focus RS was/still is after I sold it, running 330bhp and 381lb/ft with the standard bottom end!!!! New owner is running a forged bottom end now after his missus went through a puddle and the engine had a little drink!!!

Im sure a GT28 turbo would see it close to 380bhp and over 400lb/ft

It would loose less than a Subaru only having to go through the front wheels..
