Default quick question

snowing today. i have trouble starting my car in below 0 weather. because its a lightweight battery and i have ran it down a few times.

the snow had only started this morning as i was setting out but it still struggled a little to start...

at work i put a towel across the grille on the front to try keep it a bit warmer so as it will start.

the towel was damp, but is there a chance it could catch fire?! i wasnt rallying coming to work but i felt the heat came out from the grille.

i seen the idea in ice road truckers (but they werent using a bath towel!)

bad enough if i go out and it wont start. dont want to go out to a crispy wreck!

so is this safe? thanks.
