i got a parking ticket last week ,so i thought id put some pics up to see what you all think
iv not paid it yet as i think it was unfair, i parked my car at 11pm and did not see them and didnt use my car the next day so didnt see it in the day light
iv sent a email off to the council and got a reply saying that they cant keep all the yellow lines in good condition due to cost ect ect

they cannot fine you because there isnt a solid line at the end stopping it and the other has faded ,why they didnt keep painting is just stupid if a line is broken in anyway then it is not valid
there is a website i think dedicated to this sort of thing

Ey up mate.
On the last pic the lines are still noticable but they are faded/worn to hell. I wouldn't pay the ticket and I would get dated photographic proof too. Should get out of it without paying.

You "may" have a case against them, as the markings are not clear, BUT if they also have signs up on the posts then your screwed
Oh and ask them what they spend the money on, the paint isnt THAT expensive

I would argue the lines are not clearly defined. But the faded view shows paint going all the way along.
Further are there sign boards to indicate times of parking/not parking close to the area you parked in.
I understand that the lines are not "clear" to see but if signs are around telling the times to park/not park i do not think you have much chance.
I hope you win the day all the best.

ref parking fine
hi stuart i hope this will help, the law states that the signs must be lawfully placed which i would be sure they are, but they must also be clearly visible , you cannot be penalised for the lack of their upkeep, what if they did not paint them at all. i have successfully contested parking fines on this basis and won. the key words are LAWFULLY PLACED and CLEARLY VISIBLE which these are not. go for it good luck.
