VTA assists spool up? Does it?
I know they can do you damage from by-passing the MAF, thats all the info I need not to get one.............apart from the annoying noise.....

mine came with the turbosmart supersonic which can be adjusted so it acts as a vta as well as recirc just depends how hard or soft the setting but its pretty loud but ive quietened mine so more recirc than vta.

Really?
VTA dump valves do more harm than good and make an annoying noise that only impresses 15 year old school boys.
When air is entering the intake it will have been metered by the MAF sensor. This will then allow the ECU to provide the correct amount of fuel in order to maintain a healthy A/F balance. When using a VTA dump valve, this air will lost when the valve actuates, but the ECU will not be aware of this and still supply the fuel. No or very little air means all the fuel will not be burnt. The excess fuel will then slip past the piston rings and into the sump mixing with the oil. A condition known as 'bore wash'.
If you're happy to run a VTA DV knowing this then by all means carry on. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the standard recirc item that came with the car. It works fine and doesn't produce a chavvy noise.
The end is near.....and it is chavvy.

If i was to post up saying im going to put jizz in my gearbox because id read on the interwebz that it was better than proper box oil and a rake of people had replied saying 'aye, fire on mate' id be pretty gutted when the box epicially fails in a mess of boiled semen.
P.S the topic of the thread should be changed to 'How to make my car more ned-like'

Yes MrRA, its simple - less compressor surge to the turbo means that it will spool back up quicker - its not rocket science
My hks item was fine for the months i had my car - not one problem.
Oh and, what if your running a MAP sensor instead please?
The people that bitch & moan are the people who buy an impreza in a mid life crises, know nothing about them and try fit a chav valve wrong, causing problems. - thats the only way id know a vta would make itself a problem. and i arnt been funny, but that counts for quite a few people on here that dont know what theyre doing.
RA Dunk - no DV over time the pressure will wreck the bearings in your turbo
