Default Saw a V5 Sti, with 2.5. Old member here. Good car?

Hi guys,

I saw this car earlier today

Subaru : Subaru Impreza STI 5 2.5L 404bhp Massive spec!

I belive it used to be a members car on here?

I quite liked it, what is the general thoughts on this car, its a bit short notice, but i have to get back to him ASAP as its for a swap for my current car which is priced around the same value.

It will be a daily driver, usually short journeys for work, then long ones at night etc. Will i have any reliability issues with this spec?

Small smell of fuel, is this common. (running 750 injectors)

Thanks in advance for any tips/hints or thoughts about this car?

Cheers
Nick

Well i bought it.

Seems good, a little dirty on the inside, but all cleaned up and looking good.

Not sure it will be a genuine 400bhp anyway. Reckon it would be mid 300's.

Is 400bhp likely?... Its quick defo! using my bum dyno it certinaly shifts no stranger to turbo Jap cars, just sold my Mr2 Turbo which was around the 300bhp mark. Bought a Civic Type R because i thought i needed to be more professional. Had it 2 weeks and traded it for the Scoob.

Will get her fueled and go play tomorrow!

I was thinking of buying this as its not too far from me to go and have a look. In the end I thought that with all those mods I would be stressing about reliability for a daily driver, went for a standard car instead. Thats not to say that this car wouldnt be reliable, its more about how my parra head works! Seemed a Gen owner when I spoke to him on the phone, well done and happy days

Yeah the guy seemed pretty cool,

Was a mechanic who has dealt with imports for a long time. Calder, Dicksons etc.

Not sure if thats a good thing or bad thing! Lol. Good things its been maintained, or a bad thing that he knows what wrong with it and is getting rid of it!

Fingers crossed!

I wouldn't worry too much about the reliability, even if it did go bang, you'd probably be able to break even selling parts off with the price you paid.

Get it on the rollers to check the power/fuel etc.
