Default Engine crane to hire ?

Bit of a long shot, but is there anyone in the lincolnshire area that is able to lend me an engine crane for the weekend.

Have looked at renting them, but if you add the price of the crane hire + deposit + chain, it works out about £100 which is the same as a cheap crane on fleebay.

Anyway, hopefully someone has one that they can lend me..

Let me know if you do and where you are.

Thanks in advance

my neighbour has one, will ask him tomorrow, or if it will do, ive got a large chain lift, we normally sling it out across the roof beams in the garage to lift engines out, just cant move them about much!

I only need to take the engine out and put the new one in, so however that takes. I never done one before so i dont know timescales.
My mate is coming up from Norfolk to give me a hand, so if we are able to lend it Marv, that would be ace. Or you are more than welcome to come and help, as it sound like you would be the subject matter expert.

@Engine munky. I would prefer to have a crane mate if poss, i dont think im going to have the use of a garage so its going to be out in the open (With a gazebo for protection). Let me know also if you are able to help.

Cheers guys

Seems pointless paying masses amounts of money for something i will only use the once or so

you could say expert had mine out twice now lol

if it's a subaru flat 4 & you have got every thing disconected including the clutch fork then it shouldn't take any more than an hour to swap them over....

this thing i've got looks like some thing off scrapheap challenge (bodged together) but it did the trick this afternoon, had my engine out on my own in about 15 mins

theres no wheels on it but so it's a case of lifting engine out, pushing car back, dropping engine to floor & so on....

have you or your mate done this before

cant get hold of the crane, but if you need another hand, drop us a pm. im free this weekend and dont mind popping over to help a mate in need. ive had the engine/gearbox out of a classic before, and ive got a fair bit of spannering knowledge and a full toolbox behind me.
