Another smack up the ****!
Leaving work on Monday night, I was sitting at a roundabout when a Pug 306 decides to have a closer look at my rear end, it was the old sceanrio he thought I had driven off, didn't look and Bang
I am not having much luck, only had it fixed after Christmas after the HGV scraped the same bumper
Here is the result:
The boot wont close now, so I have taped it shut
Bumper is mangled, rear light is sticking out
Ouch
You can see how its twisted the rear boot panel
The driver admitted fault, the repair centre are having a look at it next Tuesday
Doesn't look good does it?

Feel for you mate
Just had mine done last week (New bumper and back box)
At least they admitted responsibility, so you shouldn't have to pay anything.
Couldn't believe the bumper when I saw the new one there's nothing to them just a hollow piece of plastic

That looks quite similar to mine. The garage ended up cutting out the rear panel and welded in a new one - cost the insurance co £1000 (about 4 years ago).
I'd check that none of the seams around the rear arches have popped, because the bumper fixings are quite strong, and I'm sure my rear arches have suffered from rust in that area as a result.

After nearly 3 weeks driving around in the Chevy beast
I got the car back yesterday, it looks like they have done a good job.
New bumper, boot, inner boot panel, RH STI rear, and blended in right up to the rear screen.
It was very close to being written off, if it had not been a limited edition it would have been a goner the guy at reception said!
Good to have it back
