Default NEW EXHAUST ADVICE???

Having purchased my MY06 Hawkeye Sti a couple of months ago and determined not to get sucked into modding it, I seem to have broken my resolve.

Im thinking of fitting a new (louder) backbox rather than the standard sti one. Which one do people recommend, thinking of the Ninja2 at the mo. Also is there any issues with the MOT regarding sound????

Thanks folks..

no issue with mot, think it would need to be crazy to have a mot issue, i fitted a vortex afterburner and have been happy with it great sound and not mega loud as just a back box.

There are plenty of sound clips on Youtube to give you an idea of what you may want. I've just taken off a 5 month old prodrive and replaced it with a full Milltek system. Both are fairly quiet until you reach 3k.

I put a Ninja downpipe and decat centre with an Afterburner Vortex on my previous one. What should I put on the V7 STI - any particular recommendations for a better rumble on this model?

You have just missed the group buy on here for Hayward + Scott exhausts. They make the ninja and afterburner for Scoobyworld. Good prices aswell, maybe they will still let you get one at that price since its only a day out. Worth a try

I have a standard hawkeye WRX and would like a better rumble sound, but don't want it too loud for long motorway journeys and the Missus moaning which is an even worse noise!

Is the prodrive back box any good in terms of an upgrade over the standard bacbox, for BHP (letting the engine breathe better) and for the rumble effect?

Backbox is a great compromise between releasing the burble but subtle on the motorway. Power wise, not a lot, but worth around 25bhp in burble alone. I'll be selling my 5 month old one this week if you're interested. Bob

Thanks for the offer, about to move house so moneys tight at the mo and can't really justify it as I have a perfectly good exhaust. Will look into it later in the year though.

Thanks for the advice
