pros and cons
Hi all
im new to the scooby world, and now ive got to a sensible age to purchase a subaru i was just wondering what are the pros and cons of a jap import to a type UK STI e.g. road tax, insurance, repair costs etc etc etc. The model i will be looking at would be the blobeye STI.
Thankyou in advance

From: 1600cc's of twin scroll fun :)
Pro's of the JDM car over the UK car, virtually everything
Cons.... slightly more expensive to maintain (6 monthly or 7.5k service intervals over the 1 yr or 10k service intervals of the uk car and the gearbox oil needs changing on a yearly basis over 2 years on the uk car).
Apart from that, its all JDM

I looked at buying a 52plate bugeye. It was the sti import with ppp....the guy at the dealership said it was 320bhp out the box, compared with the less powerfull UK spec car (280bhp for the uk i think???)
I have only heard good things about the imports so I doubt you'd be dissapointed...only thing is, I think post 03 cars are eligible for the dreaded 400quid road tax!

Thanks for your imput. But "twin scroll" WOOSH that went straight over my head. is it best to import one or get one that has already been imported into the counrty??
So would most scooby nuts go for a JDM if they had the chance..
Is there any good import dealers that they could recommend or should i go private..
I KNOW I AM SUCH A NOOB!!
