First week with a scooby

First week of driving my 05 wrx and it feels weird and great all in the one go.
Weird because it is much bigger than my previous car and it seems to mask the speed very well. Going at 30 seems i`ve stopped and even when I think i`m doing 60/70 one look at the speedo reveals something a lot different.![Norty](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/norty.gif)
Love the sound that comes off it - previous owner had fitted a ninja II box with an Afterburner centre section and it certainly rumbles just nicely.
Only annoyance is a slight dent in the back bumper on the passenger side but I`m not sure if you can knock these out easily enough - any ideas ?
Everybody says its my mid-life crisis car but who cares cause I think I`m really liking it ...

Sorted a mates bumper out by using a DeWalt Hot Air Gun (set quite low), got the damaged area nice and hot but not hot enough to damage the paint and just popped out the dent by hand (wear gloves), keeping pressure on the area so it cooled and held the shape correctly . You can only just tell it had been damage - and the dent was very severe.
You can get the DeWalt from B&Q. It's a DW340K

See how long it takes for the modding bug to wear you down, I'd just apologise to the Credit Card company now if I was you!![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Thanks guys
saw a video on the net with someone using a hot air gun and then a cooling spray on a dent but I didn`t think it would work on plastic bumpers.
Not sure if I could get my hand up inside to push it out either but I might try and see if its possible.
No pictures yet as it really needs a wash now - just a bog standard looking wrx in crystal grey so not as interesting as some of the cars on here but it suits me.

First week is always the best. The smile soon wears off when you realise how much fuel your putting in!!! So then you start to calm down alot and start to drive like its a normal car, until one day your on a nice empty twisty B road and the smile soon comes back again!
Enjoy it, they really are great cars

Love mine to bits now, wasn't to sure when I first brought it though, I went through a stage of 'what have I just done?' but now I think its lush. They feel light and responsive and I still get the 'oh, thats a lot faster than I thought I was going' problem!!!

jsfb - sorry no dump valve or euro seats so it doesn`t sound like your old scooby.
So far petrol hasn`t been too bad but just my luck they have put the prices up again.

Black blobs are the best. Check out My Garage if you want any styling inspiration. If its standard looks wise I'd think about a high level spoiler and some nice alloys to start with. I also went with a HT auto's front splitter and dark tints to really make the car look mean!! It sounds like the exhaust is already producing that magnificent flat four burble so no worries there!!
Enjoy scooby life and welcome to Scoobynet!!

ownership experience slighlty tainted today as some prat put a dent in my door.
I always park away out of the road of everything but came back to find another car parked really close, wasn`t until I looked later on that I noticed the fresh dent.
Why can`t some people have a bit more respect for others property .... makes me mad !!!
