Not quite enough info to give you a definative answer as settings will only be right for 1 or 2 gears, the others will be either too early or too late. And will also depends on
A) is a 2.5ltr UK/EU or a 2.0 JDM
B) Track or Road
C) Which gear do you need the indication for
D) what you need the indication for
IMHO

if you get the chance to go on a rolling road that would indicate the best setting, however i do think 7 is far too high. my max torque is at 4300 rpm and max bhp at 5750 rpm so i have mine set at 5000 rpm (in the middle), but anywhere between the 2 is the roughly the best setting. as with a lot of things on here though it is all down to personal preference but you are not gonna get much more pull by haing it set above 6 imo. lee

5800RPM in my 2003 Blob STi 2.0 litre
at 5800RPM this is enough warning in the lower gears to get a gear change in with out going to far up the rev range and hitting the limiter.

If it's for the road and you were doing 120 in 4th I think you need more than a light and a buzzer in your car, you need banning or a serious talking to by the cops.

if you ahve a boost gauge, get the passenger to look at roughly when your boost starts tailing off as you get towards the redline and set it just before the boosts starts tailing off quite alot, that way you'll keep the boost higher. got mine set to 6.5K
