Default broke my strut on speedbump anywhere i can get money for it?

Ive got a 1994 wrx

1. DOes all cars my year have a strut underneath the car come as standard or was mine a mod?

2. I went over a speed bump and broke one part of the strut is there any where I can get my money for the strut? I hear there is a place if anything happens to your car on the road they will pay out.

My strut is like this but the back bit is half the size more cilinder shaped.

I assume that you went over the speedbump too quickly?

Speed bumps are designed so to reduce traffic speed to less than 20mph, and they are only on 30mph limit roads.

REally shouldn't be going over speed bumps at 30-40mph!!
Suprised you didn't take off your front bumper aswell!

If you contact the council, they might have a mind to bill you for the damage to the speed bump!

...but they will definitely ask you if you're joking if you try to claim from the council and tell them you were doing those speeds over the bumps!

so were the speed bumps in a 30 zone if so i wouldnt go down that route if you are admitting to speeding could be that it was damaged before hand and was ready to go.

funny but so true! i bet they bl**dy would

speedbumps and performance cars do not mix in any shape or form!

take something that weighs well in excess of a tonne, add some speed to it and you will have a fair amount of momentum by now .... wack a speedbump in the mix and it will eventually have at least one of these dampers/alloys/front splitter/bushes etc etc

i've had passengers or cars following going on about how its a rally car and should be able take speed bumps, why am i going so slow!!?? people who think that are

ahh dont worry flash at least you know its just a mod and not something more serious just take the rest of it off and as they say learn from your mistakes im sure theyre have been others breaking stuff going a bit too fast over speed bumps.

The term "speed bump" isn't supposed to be taken literally, 30~40..
Maybe you should think of them as slow bumps.

You can pick a lower H brace up cheap enough on fleabay.

You won't get anything at all as ive just asked my mate who's a highways inspector who deals with this sort of claim everyday at Bedford Boro council!

There are loads of factors before any council will pay out on a claim such as...

What speed was you doing ?

Is your car lowered below standard hight leaving the factory ?

Should the part be on your car ? "If" not does your insurance company know ?

Is there a "real" defect with the speed bump or road ? All pot holes and speed bumps by law are aloud to sag and dip up to 50mm

There are just a few factors my mate just asked me to post up!

Good luck witht he claim but you may as well p1ss in the wind!

And another thing 30/40mph is above the speed that you should be going over a speed bump as designed to slow you down to 15/20 mph tops for road calming so you deff don't stand a chance!

Take it on the chin and just buy another 1 or leave it off the car!
