Just updated my project thread, and thought id post up in here too
Thanks to Harvey for supplying my GT Specs & Nick @ Camcoat for for doing a great job of coating them! TSL wanted £350 plus VAT to ceramic coat headers, this cost me £240 for headers + up-pipe (+vat) it still came in at under £300![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)

just read your post again, you've got gt spec ones which explains the price...am i right these are made in taiwan?..(just looking at the box you took the pic on)
did you consider any other headers before you bought these? ie: japspeed, RCM?

All un-equal gt spec style headers that are 3 bolt, and others like them all leave the same factory to be branded up by other companies i believe. Not sure where.
Lateral sell the same ones as RCM with venturi up-pipe - wasnt paying £500+ vat just because RCM sell them. Or any others that are £499+ like afterburner items etc when you can get these for the price.
I nearly bought some TSL ones, but they sold the day i wanted to buy them. They were already ceramic coated and were £750 - was only tempted as they were already coated.
Considered ported, but plans changed with what turbo + power goal i was going for so i posted up on here and decided that for my power, id benefit from the torque gains of tubular ones. Gt specs are lighter and also came in marginally cheaper then ported + wrapped standard ones.
I also wanted ceramic coating for thermal management, one of my goals is to keep things cool under the hood
as a cooler engine performs better. Hope i made sense

looks good, did you post them out to the company ? i have some 2nd hand rcm headers with very low amounts of use so was very tempted to have rcm coat them, £375. tempted to give that company a call. what are the advantages of doing the whole system? did you/ are you planing on have the rest of the system done ?

One of my main goals was to keep temps down across the board. The headers obviously get very hot but also coating them, retains heat which is energy - more heat thats retained the faster it will flow out through the turbo & rest of the system. in theory this could increase spool too.
Im also having my turbo housing done when it arrives. Then downpipe will be last.
Zircotec couldnt compete price wise, but they do have some nice colours!

Wrighty338,
I'm really sorry to say this in your thread, and I hope yours does work for you, but not all ceramic coatings are the same, and I don't want anyone else to make the mistake of comparing the Camcoat, & Zircotec coatings as "like for like". They are not.
I have personal experience of Camcoat coatings, and I wouldn't use them again if they paid ME.
If you can't afford to get it done properly by Zircotec, save your money, and just use exhaust wrap.
Mark.

end of the day - anything goes wrong il be going right back to nick, simple as that init, iv had a service / product from him, and he will be warranting it
and regarding buying cheap & buying twice - could say the same for wrap, its only gonna fray and stuff over time so youl end up doing it again at some point. i know someone who needs to re-wrap his manifold and its only been done about 2months.
Iv had it done now - il see how it goes. Iv never heard bad things about camcoat

Wrighty,
I'm sorry, the cost comment was a general comment.
I have tried the coatings of 4 different companies so far, and the only one worth anything is Zircotec.
My personal experience of Camcoat: coatings that come off in the hot wash, coatings that peal off the manifold, to name a couple. I am not alone.
Maybe they've improved, but I would rather supply, or recommend a product I know works every time, than one that has just given me hassle in the past, because boy do you guys like to give us suppliers a hard time if things don't go 100% right![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
